Joseph Eugene Peterson

December 25, 1963 — July 5, 2017

Joseph Eugene Peterson, 53, passed away Wednesday night at his residence on Rock Hill Road in Blakely, GA 39823. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at 3 PM with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. The family will receive friends for a visitation starting at 2 PM until the memorial service at 3 PM.

Joe was born on December 25, 1963 in Blakely, Georgia. He was a self-employed painter in the construction business but had been disabled for several years. Preceding him in death was his father, James Lee Petersonand his mother, Sara Frances Thomas Peterson Murkerson. He also was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Katie Peterson Taylor and Dyan Peterson Adams.

His survivors include 2 daughters; Cierra Peterson and Kelly Peterson, both of Blakely and a son; Zack Peterson of Albany, Ga. He has 3 sisters; Annette Taylor and Monroe of Blakely, GA, Judy Johnson and Terry of Columbia, AL and Janis Brady of Blakely, GA and a brother, Randy Peterson of Atlanta, Ga. There are 4 grandchildren; Emily, Nova, Presleigh and Grayson, all of Blakely, GA.
