Jon Anthony Smith

Mr. Jon Anthony Smith, 66, of Blakely, Georgia, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at his home. Mr. Smith was born on December 4, 1955 to the late Harold Johnson Smith and Murrell Greene Smith in Panama City, Florida. He attended Early County High School. He always had a love of guns and was called a gunsmith throughout his life. He was also a “jack of all trades” and built a gun range at his home to practice his firearm skills. Mr. Smith worked for Georgia Pacific for nearly 46 years as a Powerhouse Technician where he assisted in power production. He attended Liberty Assembly of God in Blakely. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife of over 50 years, Mrs. Janet Smith. Everyone know that they were the loves of their lives and were inseparable. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Katherine E. Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Janet Corley Smith; children, Jonathan Smith, Jessica D. Smith, and Stephen Smith; five grandchildren; siblings, Mary Holmes, Judy Howard, and Espy Smith; as well as a host of extended family. Services for Mr. Jon Smith will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, November 8th, from the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
