Joe Ragan

March 4, 1945 — April 21, 2020

Joseph Howard Ragan, 75, of Blakely, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Early Memorial Nursing Home.

Joe was born March 04, 1945 in Coleman, Georgia to the late Howard and Rosa Nell Martin Ragan.From a young age, Joe enjoyed working with horses and mules.He was a good woodworker and built many horse drawn implements.Joe retired from Georgia-Pacific after a thirty-seven year career and proudly served our country in the United States Army.He was a member of Vilulah Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Ragan; sons, Clint Ragan of Portland, OR., and Daniel Ragan of Valdosta; daughters, Melissa Ragan of Blakely, and Cristie W. Spano (Carl) and their children, Grace, Sam, and Sarah of Lake Park, GA.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his son, William Howard Ragan; and his siblings, Wayne Ragan and Wynelle Clark.

Due to current restrictions, the family will be having a private graveside service at Pine Lawn Cemetery.
