Joann J Fitzgibbons

February 18, 1934 — January 20, 2022

Joann Jordan Fitzgibbons ascended with the Angels to heaven on January 20, 2022. She was born to the late Ruth and Bob Jordan on February 18, 1934 in Blakely, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Bobbie Ruth Jordan and brother Samuel Jordan. She is survived by her husband Robert Fitzgibbons, daughters Kathy Fitzgibbons, Nancy Fitzgibbons and Eleanor Soltis, her husband Chris and daughter Chloe.
Joann was a shaker and a mover. She left Blakely for work in Atlanta in 1954 and met her future husband, Bob. They moved to Memphis, TN where, in addition to being a mother of three, she began a career teaching Charm school and worked as a high fashion model. She often graced the Society section of the Memphis newspaper and television wearing everything from furs to sequins.
In 1970 the family was transferred to Upland, CA for Bob's work. Joann didn't let the West coast intimidate her.She continued in her passion as a dedicated mother and wife, yet set out to make an impact in her community. She began teaching college level ‘Dress for Success' courses in Southern California colleges and West Coast corporations. Through her many years of teaching and through God's wisdom He bestowed on her, she developed a unique Color Concept that would impact thousands of lives.
Based on this Personality of Seven different individual Color Groups Joann opened Fitzgibbons Color and Fashion that specifically offered clothing, accessories and cosmetics to complement the color concept. She led many a corporate executive, airflight attendant, and resident to greater self-confidence through her Color and Dress courses. Her passion and talent were producing fashion shows and modeling high fashion at major venues all over Los Angeles.
Joann was very involved in her Upland, CA community for almost 50 years. She was active in the Republican Women's Group, Friday Club, Tick-Tockers, Assistance League, Las Tias and many community projects.
Her heart was always for the Lord God and she obtained her Assemblies of God Ordained Ministers license. She led prayer groups, lectured on His behalf in many forums. She officiated marriages, funerals and was an inspiration to many as she reflected His grace and kindness to everyone she met.
Upon retirement, Joann and Bob returned home to Blakely, GA. She spent time in the Atlanta area remodeling homes, attending the latest fashion market meetings and sharing the love of God.
Joann left us with the gift that we all have our own unique design by God based on our Personality of Color. She will be loved and missed forever.
