Joan Clark Sammons

Joan Clark Sammons, 76, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Pigeon Valley Rest Home.

Joan was a native of Baker County, Georgia and a daughter of the late Perry Jackson and Minnie Holland Clark.She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Griffin, Kate Carter and Evelyn Hoover; and three brothers, Jack Clark, Spurgeon Clark and Derrell Clark.Joan was the owner and operator of Creation Tours.She was participated with Haywood County Disaster Relief Center and Human Trafficking Awareness.Joan was also a dedicated church member and volunteered and cooked the Wednesday evening meals at the church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons; a daughter, Jill Parrish and her husband, Bill; a sister, Gracie Mae King; and a granddaughter, Addison Parrish.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Canton First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Jack B. Sammons and Reverend Court Green officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.

There will be a visitation from 12 -2 pm at the Colomoke Baptist Church, Blakely, Ga on Saturday, November 6, 2021 with a funeral service following at 2 p.m. then burial will be at the Colomokee Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broyhill Baptist Children's Home, 111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC28721 or to any domestic violence shelter.
