Jerry Thomas Taylor, 59, of 4927 Highway 216, Arlington, GA39813,passed away at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, GA on Friday night May 12, 2017. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in the Arlington Baptist Church at 11 AM with Dr. Gary Hadden officiating. The family will receive friends for Jerry's visitation on Monday evening, May 15, 2017 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will follow the funeral at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are: Fire Chief Trey Mock, Assistant Fire Chief Wendell Whitaker and Firefighters Trent Mock, Kenny Williams, Jonathan Farris and Patrick Newberry.
Jerry was born on October 31, 1957 in Cuthbert, GA to the late Marvin Casey Taylor, Sr. and his mother, Mary Frances White Whiddon of Arlington, GA. He was a retired Business Owner and former Fire Chief of the Arlington Fire Department, with about 20 years devoted to the fire department. He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, John Daniel Whiddon and by a brother, Danny Whiddon.
His survivors, other than his mother, include his wife, Evelyn Faye Edwards Taylor, 2 daughters: Stacey Honeyman and her husband Chris of Cleveland, TN and their children: Christian Johnson (Brandy) and great granddaughter to Jerry, Gracyn; Kaitlyn Carroll (Josh), Jacob and Sadie Honeyman; Jerry's daughter, Brittney Burton and her husband Steve of Albany, GA and their children: Bryce, Brayden and Taylor Haise Burton. Jerry's 2 sons are: Jerry Taylor and his wife Deidra of Sylvester, GA and their children: Faith, Raleigh and Addison Taylor; and Jerry's other son: Travis Taylor and his wife Stephanie of Ellijay, GAand their children: Abby, Alli and Waylon Taylor. Jerry's 2 brothers are: Casey Taylor and his wife Karen of Arlington, GA and Ronald Whiddon and his wife Rhonda of Leary, GA. Evelyn and Jerry also have an adopted son: Kenneth Williams of Arlington, GA. Step-Mother: Grace Taylor and a Step-Sister: Robbie Wood (Bill).
