A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, in Blakely Cemetery with Dr. Alex Howell officiating.Viewing will be available for family and friends on Monday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jean was born on January 24, 1934 in Blakely to the late Homer Hue and Bera King Willis.She was a graduate of Hilton High School where she enjoyed playing on the girls basketball team.On March 30, 1957, she married the late John L. Harris with whom she raised two children and fulfilled the chores of a farmer's wife.In addition to being a talented cook, Jean also enjoyed sewing, crafting, painting, and woodworking with her husband.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blakely.
Survivors include her two daughters, Amy Smith (Brent) of Wicksburg, AL and Nancy McCormick of Dover, DE; three grandchildren, Clayton McCormick (Rebecca), Ashley McCormick, and Dylan Hungerford, all of Dover; her brother, Lamar Willis of Blakely; a sister-in-law, Virginia Willis, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Vincent, Vivian, and Julian Willis.
