Janice Swords, 52, of 53 River Bluff Heights, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851 passed away Tuesday evening at LifeBrite Community Hospital of Early, in Blakely, Ga. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday afternoon, June 2, 2018 at 4 pm in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home with Johnny Avirett officiating.
Janice was born on October 26, 1965 in Atlanta, GA to Bridges Ezell and Mary Elizabeth Cherry Ezell both of Blakely, GA.She was a secretary for American Dock Builders of Ft. Gaines, GA and All American Pawn Shop of Eufaula, AL.She was a member of Temple Baptist Church of Arlington, GA.She was preceded in death by a son, Shannon Swords.

Her survivors, other than her parents, include her husband, Carroll Swords of Ft. Gaines, GA; two daughters, Jennifer Thomas and Matthew of Arlington, GA and Carrie Metz and Dan of West Virginia, one son, Nick Whiddon and Jamey of Arlington, GA; five sisters, Joyce Boyd of Ft. Gaines, GA, Diane Knight of Athens, GA, Laurie Cooper and Randy of Blakely, GA, Mickie Thornell of Atlanta, GA, Callie LoCascio of Pensacola, FL; three brothers, Kevin Ezell and Shari of North Carolina, Steven Ezell of Texas, and Adam Ezell and Daniele of North Carolina.There are also five grandchildren, Carter, Peyton and Luca Metz, Luke Harrell and John Thomas. Her special nephew Tate Thornell.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America of Atlanta 600 Celebrate Life Parkway
