Janice Grantham Powell

Sue Powell, 67, of 1111 Edison Hwy, Ft. Gaines, Ga. 39851, died Wednesday evening in Flowers Hospital of Dothan, AL. Her funeral will be held Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 2 PM EDT in the Ft. Gaines, Baptist Church with Jeff Hines and Rev. Randy Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the New Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, May 28, 2016 at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral in Blakely from 6 until 8 PM. Active pallbearers will be Dale Brown, Steve Grantham, Greg Grantham, Earl McMullen, Jonathon Powell and Reeds Sanders, Honorary pallbearers will be Eli Powell and Riley Stockton.

Sue was born June 19, 1948 in Blakely, Ga. to the late Henry C. Grantham and Annie Louise Storey Grantham. She was a hostess at George T. Bagby State Park and a homemaker. She was a member of the Ft. Gaines Baptist church. Other than her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Towns Powell.

Her survivors include a daughter: Mary Ann Powell Stockton and Earl of Livingston, TN, 2 sons: Michael Powell & Jill of Coleman, GA and Mark Powell of Abbeville, AL. She has a brother: James Grantham of Cordele, GA and 5 grandchildren: Jonathon Powell, Eli Powell, Hannah Davis, Reed Sanders and Riley Stockton. Sue also had a very special friend for many years in Stephen Moulton of Ft. Gaines, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Ft. Gaines Baptist Church, P. O. Box 248, Ft. Gaines, Ga. 39851.
