Jeanette Watson McDonald peacefully entered the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 surrounded in love by her family. Born September 21, 1935 to the late George and Addie Lou Floyd, Janette was raised in Early County. She was a graduate of Blakely Union High School where she met the man who her heart adored. In 1953, Janette married Eugene Watson. Together they raised three children until his death in 1985. In addition to husband Eugene, she was preceded in death by her second husband Hollis McDonald, brother Thomas Floyd, and sisters Mattie Bell Shiver and Reba Hall. She is survived by her children, Lonnie Watson and his wife Marianna, Jack Watson and his wife Ginger, Joy Redding and her husband Art, and Glenna Bruner, as well as grandchildren Trey Watson (Tamara), Mandy Chapman (Chad), Collier Watson (Amanda), Paige Harris (Jonathan), Josh Watson (Jane), Hugh Redding, Zack Redding and Sydney Floyd (Zach). She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sisters Emma Jean Lanton and Linda Craft, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A member of Colomokee Baptist Church, she loved and trusted the Lord with all her heart, a firmly held belief that she taught her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering faith in God was exemplified in her every day life. She loved her family unconditionally, was generous without judgment, humble, respectful, and always grateful, even in times of adversity. She enjoyed taking care of others, beautiful flowers, and Slocomb tomatoes, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Pallbearers are grandsons Trey Watson, Chad Chapman, Collier Watson, Jonathan Harris, Josh Watson, Hugh Redding, Zack Redding and Zach Floyd. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11 AM with visitation at 10 AM at the Colomokee Baptist Church. Interment at the Blakely Cemetery will immediately follow the service. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kindred Hospice, particularly Becky and Harriett, as well as caregivers Tori, Abigail, Cherry, Mary Jean and Priscilla for the amazing love and care they provided.
