James Andrew Parker

January 18, 1955 — August 16, 2017

Mr. James Andrew Parker, 62, of Kingsley Ave., Orange Park City, FL passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in the Oakview Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11 AM at the First Assembly of God Church in Blakely, Ga. with Rev. Jerry Murkerson officiating. His ashes will be buried later at the Greenshade Cemetery, near Fowlstown, Ga. in Decatur County. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Anvie, Arthur and Madison Parker,

James was born on January 18, 1955 to the late Arthur Townsend Parker and Cora Lee Daniels Parker. He attended the First Assembly of God in Blakely, Ga., a former policeman for the cities of Blakely, Ga. and Arlington, Ga. and he also worked as a carpenter/painter for the Wasdin Construction Co. and was a masonry worker for Day's Construction. He was a U. S. Army Officer, serving a little over 4 years.

His survivors include 4 sisters: Mavis Ulmer of Bainbridge, Ga., Emma Dean of McClenney, Fl., Kaye Slay of Blakely, Ga., and Barbara Hucks Conway, SC.. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
