James Willard Odom

James Willard Odom, 77, of 19369 Thomas Grove Church Rd., Arlington, Ga. 39823, passed away Monday evening, April 24, 2017 at his residence. His funeral will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 2 PM in the Arlington Baptist Church with Dr. Gary Hadden and Rev. Ryan Mason officiating the service,with visitation starting at 1 PM also at the church.Active pallbearers will be Lavon Odom, David Scott Odom, Larry Worsley, Derrick Eubanks, Hank Jester and Wayne Peel.Honorary pallbearers will be the Ike Newberry and Dan Collins Sunday School classes.

Mr. Odom was born on Feb. 10, 1940 in Bainbridge, GA to the late J L Odom and Sarah Dollar Odom. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Arlington Baptist Church and he was a U. S. Navy Veteran. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia O. Nixon.

His survivors include his wife; Lillie Maxine Riffle Odom of Arlington, GA; 2 sons; Greg Odom and his wife Michelle of Leslie, GA and Mike Odom and his wife Lisa of Arlington, GA. He has 3 sisters; Virgeline O. Duke and her husband Frank of Albany, GA, Gloria O. Tedder and her husband Jack of Blakely, GA and Sandra Eaton of Edison, GA. There are also 2 brothers; Larry Odom and his wife Kathy of Witchita Falls, TX and Louette Odom and his wife Brooke of Arlington, GA. His 5 grandchildren are: Chasity Carpenter and Daniel of Leesburg, GA, Hannah Odom of Americus, GA, Garrett Odom of Smyrna, GA, Eric Odom and Jordan of Cowarts, AL and Summer Odom of Arlington, Ga. and there are 5 great grandchildren and 1 on the way.
