James "Jim" Charles Hawkins, 81, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 22, 2021 at his home in Fort Gaines, GA.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife Claudia Jo Kershaw Hawkins, the love of his life for 60 years.They have three children; James Alan (Shelia) Hawkins of Blakely, GA,Tony (Priscilla) Hawkins of Blakely, GA., Linda (Michael) Kadron of Albany, GA.He also has a sister Christine Clements of Lakeland, FL and a nephew Maybrey (Terri) Raulerson of Swainsboro, GA.
One of Jim's greatest blessings was being a grandaddy and spending time with his seven grandchildren; Jacob Anthony Hawkins, Kelsey Elena Hawkins, Dallas Anne Kuhn, Michaela Lynn Kadron, Andrew James Kadron, Jared Hodges Hawkins and Heather Joy Kadron.
As a retired United States Navy Master Chief Petty Officer of the Command, he gave 30 years of his life in service to his country.He also worked as a Sales Manager and as a woodshop instructor for Eckerd Youth Alternative Programs.He was a competitive shooter in pistols and skeet.
Jim's greatest event in his life was when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.He loved his Lord and everyone that knew him knew it.Jim never missed an opportunity to share of the Lord's faithfulness with someone.God spared his life so many times throughout his career in the Navy, but the Lord carried Jim through so many trials and triumphs that only led to him loving HIM more.
The celebration of Jim's life will be Monday, November 29, 2021 at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA.Visitation is at 12:00 with the service to follow at 1:00 PM.The service will be officiated by Rev. Mark Ernst.Afterwards, there will be a processional to the Bluffton Cemetery for a Military service.Pallbearers will be Jacob Hawkins, Andrew Kadron, Jared Hawkins, Patrick Shivers, Joel Durham, and Harley Richmond.
