James Lafayette Clinkscales

James LaFayette Clinkscales passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, at the age of 57 at Flowers Hospital due to complications from heart surgery. Jim was the youngest son of the late Samuel Jefferson Clinkscales and Jean Davis Clinkscales. Jim was a lifelong resident of Blakely, GA. He was born on November 17, 1964. Jim graduated from Southwest Georgia Academy in 1983. He graduated from the University of Georgia in Agricultural Economics. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He was a proud UGA alumnus and he loved the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved cheering them on with the Silver-Haired Mafia! Jim worked for Medley Restaurant Services and for Ampro Enterprises. After enduring several medical challenges, Jim became disabled and enjoyed the company of his family and many friends. Jim lived on the family farm at Peru. Jim is survived by his brother, Sam Clinkscales, Jr., ( Betsy); and sisters Jeanie Clinkscales (Mickey Deaton) and Mary Howell (Alex). He loved his nieces and nephews: Jason Clinkscales, Jeanna Ganas (Andy), Sutton Fyfe (Will), Jefferson Howell (Bree), Molly Wright (Stephen) and also grandniece Anna Rose and grandnephew Griffin Ganas. Pallbearers are David Bruner, Todd Cliett, Toby Warr, Michael Griffin, Brad Waller, Jeff Alexander, David Powell and Tim Rizer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society or Samaritan’s Purse. Visitation will be held in the chapel at Manry- Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 2:00 with memorial service following at 3:00. Officiating are Pastor Lyle Brackin and Dr. Alex Howell.
