J. D. Love , 86, of 5785 Fryer Rd., Blakely, Ga. passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at his residence.Visitation will be Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 6 - 8 p.m. His funeral will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Chapel, at 11 a.m. with Revs. Jimmy Love and Arthur Brady officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Early County with Brad Love, Jamie Love, DeWayne McDowell, Jordan Amos, Robert Love and Danny Love, Jr. serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Smith, Joshua Amos, William Love and Donald McDowell.
Mr. Love was born August 23, 1930 in Blakely, Georgia to the late Dennis Love, Sr. and Gertrude Anglin Love.J. D. attended Providence Assembly of GodChurch and was a retired carpenter. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Marie McDowell and Esther Qualls; and three brothers, Earnest "Bud" Love , Dennis Love, Jr. and Cecil Love and one step-grandson, Gary Watson.
His survivors include his wife, Bobbie Ruth Varnum Love; a daughter, Laura Amos and husband Raymond, and a son, Danny Love and wife Debra all of Blakely, Ga.There are three sisters; Katie McDonald, Marjorie Chambliss and husband Frankie, and Betty McGlamory and husband Gene all of Blakely three brothers; Carl Love and wife Grace of Blakely, Jerry Love and wife Gwen of Sasser, Ga, and Jimmy Love andwife JoAnn of Thomasville, Ga.There are six grandchildren; Joshua Amos of Dawson, Ga., Courtney Amos, Jordan Amos, and Savannah Amos all of Blakely, Wendy Roland and husband Donnie of Donalsonville, Ga., and Danny Love, Jr. of Blakely; two step-grandchildren, Lynn Temples of SC,Timothy Watson and wife Tiffany of Albany, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Sidney Odom, Haley Odom, Ellie Wayne Roland, and Ansley Amos; and eleven step great grandchildren, Gage Watson, Tristan Watson, Raven Rebant, Caden Watson, Hunter Watson, Aiyana Rebant, Aailyah Watson, Taylor Watson,Taylon Watson, Logan Temples and Jacob Temples also survive.
