Hazel Strickland Garrett

Mrs. Garrett was born on October 23, 1942 in Eufaula, AL to the late Rev. Sion Woodrow Strickland and Willie Gulledge Strickland. She was a member of the Liberty Assembly of God Church, was retired form Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill after serving 21 years as a Clipper Operator, and had also retired from the Early County School System and a bus driver for around 15 years. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Garrett, Sr., one sister, Annette Brooks and one brother, Leadon Strickland.
Her survivors include two daughters; Rhonda Garrett Barnett and Robert of Calera, AL; Melodie Garrett of Opelika, AL and a son: Rev. Billy Joe Garrett, Jr. and Lisa Moates Garrett of Blakely, GA, brother-in-law, Harold Garrett and Karen. There are five grandchildren: Christopher Mitchell of Blakely, GA, Emilie Mitchell and her fiance' Clay Sanders, Garrett Mitchell and his wife Ashley of Blakely, MiKayla Garrett Kirkland and her husband Dilan of Blakely and Camerion Garrett, also of Blakely, GA. There are also eight great grandchildren: Everett, Hudson, Julianna, Addison and Kole, all Mitchells; Braylon and Lakelyn Sanders and Braelyn Burgess.
