Hazel English Ellis, 89, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. EST in Zion Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith and Dr. Alex Howell officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. EST at the Manry Jordan Funeral Home, Blakely.Burial will be in the Sowhatchee Cemetery with Bessie Martin having the closing prayer.Active pallbearers will be James Weaver, Arthur Brackin, J. C. Freeman, Paul Smith, Lynwood English, Sam Williams, Curtis Freeman and Joey Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Willis, Milton Anderson, David Still, Terry Ferguson, William Powell, Tremain Lovering, Dwight Greenhaw and Michael Preston.

Mrs. Ellis was born January 1, 1928 to the late Ralph Clifford English and Dell Hicks English.She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Freewill Baptist Church. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Douglas Ellis and one brother, Ralph "Pete" English.

She is survived by two sons; Mike Ellis, Steve Ellis and wife Starla and two grandchildren; Randall Ellis and wife Bailey, Ethan Ellis and she also has a brother in law, Roscell "Buddy" Ellis all of Blakely, Ga.
