Gracie Mae Posey Craft, 88, of Blakely, GA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 24, 2022 after a lengthy illness. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Danny Craft officiating. Mrs. Craft was born on June 14, 1934 to the late Jesse Green Posey and Julia Ann Atkinson Posey in Geneva, Alabama. She attended Blakely Union High School and graduated top of her class. She lived in Blakely for 53 years. Mrs. Craft was a devoted military wife and homemaker. Caring for her family was her first priority. She was strong-willed, yet humble, and the epitome of unconditional love. Mrs. Craft enjoyed learning new things and teaching others. In her spare time, she took pleasure in reading, completing puzzles, cooking for her family (humming and singing the entire time), fishing, and gardening. Mrs. Craft was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Blakely, where in her younger years she taught the 3 year olds Sunday school class. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Craft; one brother, Walter Posey; five sisters: Lucille Wall, Bonnie Johnson, Robbie Posey, Ruby Roy, and Addie Francis. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Sandra Defee of Dothan, AL, and Kathye McGee (Norman McGee Jr.) of Moultrie, GA; six grandchildren: Jennifer Bush (Steven), David Defee, Nicholas Defee, Dustin Day (Jamie), Dana Day, Katherine McKay (Tyler); and six great-grandchildren: Samantha, Ashton, Casper, Madison, Makenna, and Norah.
