Gordon E. Bonner

Mr. Bonner was born on January 30, 1945 in Blakely, GA, to the late Gordon E. Bonner, Sr. and Winla Jones Bonner.After graduating from Edison High School in 1963, he attended ABAC in Tifton, GA.He spent a large portion of his life working in the agricultural industry and retired from the National Peanut Laboratory in Dawson, GA.
Mr. Bonner was a member of Edison Methodist Church, where he was the music director for a number of years.He enjoyed singing, playing golf, fishing (especially fishing), and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Martha Wise Bonner; a son, Gordon E. "Gordy" Bonner, III and his wife Julie of Ellaville, GA; a daughter, Catherine Bonner Worthy and her husband Richard of Edison; seven grandchildren, Brice Bonner (Maegen Riley), Paige Worthy Cannon (Daniel), Devin Worthy (Rhett Ragan), Ty Worthy, and Parks & Chandler Bonner; two great-grandchildren, Tucker Cannon and Case Ragan; and a brother, Greg Bonner of Tallahassee, FL.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.The family will receive friends at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, December 23rd.
