Glenn Alan Mclendon

August 22, 1961 — July 12, 2023

Glenn Alan McLendon, 61, of Edison, GA passed away suddenly due to a work related accident on July 12, 2023 in Morgan, GA. There will be a visitation Friday July, 14 from 10-11 am at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home followed by a service at 11am at the funeral home chapel. Glenn was born on August 22, 1961 to the late H. T. McLendon and Lois Farris McLendon. Glenn was a committed husband, father, and son. He grew up in Edison with a love for farming and community. As a child, his imagination was captured by the moon landing. His love for aeronautics and the space program would persist throughout his life as a private pilot flying friends, family, and to the field of many a farmer in need. He was a trustworthy friend and businessman, going above and beyond to help his clients-who he treated as friends-get their irrigation up and running so that crops could be watered and they could rest easy. As a father and husband, he was lovingly faithful. He loved and cared for his late wife Pam, always happiest when she could be by his side in business and life. He shared his love for the stars with his children, Michael and Christa, taking them to air shows, museums, and space camp. Glenn was a great dad. He invested in their interests with creativity and excitement by building sets, going to taekwondo tournaments, and encouraging his children to pursue their disparate interests in medicine and the arts. He recently flew up to Atlanta(not for the first time) to visit with the new greatest joys in his life, his grandchildren Tobias, Daxton, and Mattie. ‘Pops’ spent as much time with them as he could in the last few years. He took them fishing and flying. He was chief engineer for (small) rocket launches and ‘train’ rides around the farm. He looked forward to every milestone and the next time he could see them. Glenn is survived by his sister Melanie, his children Michael(Micaela) and Christa(Dylan) and his grandchildren, Tobias, Daxton, and Mattie.
