Gerry Michael Bennett

Not many people knew him as Gerry. His coworkers all called him Clone. The family always called him Mike. Gerry Michael Bennett was born on June 11,1956 in Macon, GA to the late Claude Monroe Bennett and Betty Faye Martin Bennett. Mike was a carpenter by trade for over forty years. Yep, he could build anything you wanted. His last place of employment was the Farley Nuclear Plant where he was a foreman and member of the local 225 union. He was a devout football fan and enjoyed watching, with friends and family, his beloved Aggies and Falcons play. He was also an avid fisherman. Mike is survived by two brothers ,Butch Bennett and Scott Bennett of Valdosta. GA, two sisters Cherry Wilbourn of Blakely GA. and Susan Gandy of Dothan AL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mike was a resident of Blakely Ga. and regularly attended Hilton United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Manry Jordan Hodges funeral home. A graveside service will be on Friday, June 3, 2022 at New Park Cemetery, Fort Gaines, GA at 2:00 p.m. and Burial will follow.
