Geraldine Blankenship Brockman, 81, of Edison, GA passed away on Saturday evening, September 26, 2020, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, in the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges with Rev. Keith Gaines officiating.Frank Miller and Brent Armstrong will serve as honorary pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00, prior to the service.
Geraldine was born on March 23, 1939 in Edison to the late Quinton Roosevelt and Beatrice Duke Williamson.After receiving her nursing degree, she worked as a nurse in Blakely for numerous years.Geraldine enjoyed gardening and was well known for her beautiful roses. She also enjoyed beach trips and riding motorcycles in her younger years.Geraldine was a faithful member of Edison Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three sons, Richard Blankenship (Cathy) of Springfield, GA, Robin Blankenship (Diane) of Blakely, and Ryan Blankenship (Mary) of Prattville, AL; her daughter, Deena Riley of Blakely; a step-daughter, Lisa Beebe (Laddie) of Haysville, KS; four siblings, Annette Willis (Winburn) of Edison, Melba Vinson (Walter) of Abbeville, AL, Claire Smith (JIm) of Taylorsville, IL, and Bud Williamson (Vickie) of Albany, GA; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Williamson of Eufaula, AL; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Marvette Blankenship; her husband of three years, John Brockman; and two siblings, Louise Andrews and Bubba Williamson.
