Gerald Isler, 85, of Coleman, Ga. passed away July 24, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Douglas and Larry Worsley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Being asked to serve as pallbearers are Aiden Bruner, Coy Bruner, Justin Brown, Trevor Brown, Mitch Johns, and Danny Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Isler Farms Employees, Andy Owen, Daniel Everson, Danny Everson, Larry Worsley, Terry Torbert, Jason Brown, Travis Bruner, and Alan Lee. Gerald was born September 1, 1938, in Edison, Ga., to the late John Coy Isler and Hilda Ruth Bass Isler. He was married to the late Glenna Vinson Isler. Gerald was a well-known farmer in the Clay County area. He also served in the Army National Guard. Gerald was a member of the Clay County Board of Commissioners for more than 20 years. He was also a member of numerous State and Local Boards including, Sutton Mill and Peanut, Rural Development Board, and Albany Technical College Board. He was an active member of Enterprise Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Gerald was predeceased by his wife, Glenna Vinson Isler, and siblings, Melvin Isler, Carol Adams, Marie Sandborn, Betty Boyette, and Johnny Isler. He is survived by sisters, Mary Barham of Dothan, Al., and Polly Chapman (Gerald) of Edison, Ga., Sister-in-law Chris Isler of Bluffton, Ga., Brothers-in-law Ross Kelly of Coleman, Ga. and Hoyt Vinson of Westminster, SC., his special friends and managers Linda Goodman and Terry Torbert, and Dandelion, his furry companion and beloved pet. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Karen Johns, Amanda Powers, Mike Boyette, Bob Boyette (Corine), Jim Boyette (CeeCee), Keith Isler (Lynn), Alan Isler (Stacie), Kim Warren (Jim), Shannon Boudreaux (Danny), Michael Barham, Melissa Bruner (Travis), and Kristie Brown (Jason). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Enterprise Baptist Church in Gerald’s memory. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
