Gene Harrell

Gene Harrell, 67, of Arlington, Ga., passed away July 18, 2024, at his residence. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington, Ga., with Larry Worsley and Mike Newberry officiating. Gene was born October 18, 1956 in Cuthbert, Ga. to the late Lewis Harrell and Effie Henderson Harrell. He was self-employed as owner/operator of Gene’s Auto Sales for 38 years and Harrell Farm and Garden. Gene was a member of Arlington Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Gene was predeceased by brothers, Buddy Harrell and Larry Harrell, and a sister, Hazel Sims. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda Williams Harrell, daughter, Holly Scarborough (Jeremy) of Blakely, Ga., son, Drew Harrell (Nicole) of Athens, Ga., grandchildren, Peyton Scarborough, and Jackson Scarborough of Blakely, Ga., brother, Jerry Harrell of Arlington, Ga., and sisters, Stella Beard (Dan) of Wetumpka, Al. and Dianne Dempsey of Millbrook, Al. Gene is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
