A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 03, 2020, in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Craft officiating.
Gary was born on July 23, 1958 in Blakely to the late James Bruce and Martha Lee Murkerson Johnson.He worked as a welder for the majority of his career where he showed a strong work ethic.Gary loved baseball and and played on numerous teams in the adult softball league.He was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his daughter, Heather Johnson (Kassidy) and their daughter, Aubrey, of Shellman, GA; a son, Eric Johnson of Shellman; three sisters, Linda Skipper of Blakely, Sandra Staley (Dan) of Greenville, SC, and Beverly Jordan (Joe) of Ft. Benton, MT; a brother-in-law, James Wilson of Columbus, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his sister, Nan Wilson.
