Franklin Lee Barron, Sr. passed away Sunday evening, January 21, 2018 at his residence. His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA with Father Ben Dallas officiating.The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 2 p.m.A private, family only burial will follow the funeral service at Crossroads Cemetery, Damascus, Ga. Active Pallbearers will be Christopher Barron, Michael Sears, Triston Usry, Christian Barron, Ben Barron, Eddie McDowell, Heath McDowell and Michael Catrett.Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson Graham, Brad Engram and Kyle Dykes.
Frank was born on January 4, 1943 in Columbus, GA to the late Monroe Wiley Barron and Helen Beatrice Polk Barron. He was the owner/operator of Frank Barron Truck Sales in Damascus, Ga; a member of the White Pond Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge and the Hasan Shrine Temple in Albany and was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Franklin Lee Barron, Jr. and a brother, Monroe Wiley Barron, Jr.
His survivors include his wife; Regina McDowell Barron of Damascus, Ga.; a daughter: Donna Lee Barron of Alexander City. AL; 3 sons: Michael Scott Barron and Tami of Tuscaloosa, AL; Jeffrey Sean Barron and Jessica of Buchanan, GA; Mac Bradley Barron and Katherine of Gainesville, GA; a sister: Wyline B. McDowell and Ladon of Blakely, GA. There are 11 grandchildren: Christopher Barron and Collette of Sylacauga, AL, Alex Barron of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jessica Sears Catrett and Michael of Calera, AL, Michael Sears of Savannah, GA, Robert Christian Barron, Kaylyn Leanne Barron and Lillian Elizabeth Barron, all three of Buchanan, GA, Triston Usry of Statesboro, GA, Benjamin Wilder Barron, Samuel Wiley Barron and Jude Willett Barron, all three of Gainesville, GA. There are also 3 great grandchildren are Preston Reese Barron, Brighton Presley Barron and Abigail Paige Wilson.
