Eugenia Foster, 89, of Blakely, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2020, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
Eugenia was born February 13, 1931 in Edison, Georgia to the late William Elzie White and Malda Marsene Watson White. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James B. White. She was a graduate of South Georgia State College.Eugenia worked as a local news reporter and bookkeeper with her husband at Blakely Radio WBBK.She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mary Martha Sunday School Class and sang in the choir for over fifty years.Eugenia enjoyed playing bridge and watching the Braves and the Bulldogs, but more than anything she loved and adored her family.
Eugenia is survived by her husband of over 65 years, Wayne R. Foster; two daughters, Lisa Burns and husband Jim, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Laura Riddle and husband Paul, of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Jessica Krueger and husband Patrick, of Atlanta, Michaelyn Ross and husband Adam, of Cape Girardeau, Alex Riddle of Boston, Massachusetts, and Analise Riddle of Austin, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marian White, of Albany, Georgia.
A private service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, and a memorial service will follow at a later date.
