Eugene Talmadge Fincher, 87, passed away at Calhoun Nursing Home on September 6, 2021.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington with Mike Stuart officiating.Talmadge's 10 most precious grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.Amy Hargrove, Edd Lane, Katie Aycock, Michael Fincher, Jana Clenney, Kristin Atkinson, K. D. Sizemore, Morgan Fincher, Brandi Spence and Anna Delk.Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.
Talmadge was born in Rowena, Georgia on September 17, 1933 to the late George Thomas Fincher and Ethel (Tindol) Fincher.He graduated from Arlington High School.Talmadge served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.He was a member of the Arlington Masonic Lodge and Arlington Baptist Church.Talmadge owned and operated Fincher Service Station in Arlington for over fifty years and loved his community.He was preceded in death by his brothers Charlie Fincher and Gerald Fincher and a sister, Laura Wiley.
He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Barbara (Sasser) Fincher; three daughters, Eugenia (Randy) Lane of Edison,Jan (Kenneth) Sizemore of Arlington, Pam (Stan) Rayburn of Arlington, one son, Mike Fincher of Arlington, one brother, Truman (Nancy) of College Station, Texas, one sister, Linda (Tommy) Cotton of Cordele; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Arlington Baptist Church Senior Men's Sunday School Class.
