Charles Eugene Cox, 55, of 378 Bennett Drive, Abbeville, AL,passed away this morning, August 18, 2017.His funeral will be Monday, August 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. EDT. at the Bethel Baptist Church (Clay County) with Mr. Danny Brewer officiating and Dr. Michael Warren assisting.Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 20, 2017, atManry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home from 7 -9 p.m. EDT.Pallbearers will be Dalton, Robert, Alan, Derrick and Chris Cox, Jason Hatton, Jamie Enfinger, Cory and Russell Hart.

Mr. Cox was born in Ft. Gaines, Ga. on October 4, 1961 to the late Patricia Anne Snelson Cox Dawson and his father, Charles Edwin Cox of Ft. Gaines, Ga. He is a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Browns Cross Roads Lodge # 529 of Abbeville, Al. He was a mechanic for theJ. E. King Farms in Ft. Gaines, Ga.

His survivors, other than his father, include a son, Shawn Cox of Abbeville, AL; a sister: Lynn Hart and Stephen of Newton, GA, 5 brothers: Dalton Cox and Malisa of Ft. Gaines, GA., Robert Cox and Teresa of Ft. Gaines, Alan Cox and Krystal of Edison, GA, Jason Hatton and Kelly of Dothan, AL and Derrick Cox and Windy, also of Dothan, AL.
