Emma Whatley

March 9, 1928 — December 18, 2021

Mrs. Emma (Emmy) Weissensteiner Whatley, age 93, of Damascus, Georgia, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born March 9, 1928, in Graz, Austria, the daughter of the late Hermina Weissensteiner and the late Godparents Alois and Theresa Mosehammer.

Emmy was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, William (Bill) Wesley Whatley.

Emmy loved the outdoors, telling many wonderful stories of the past and spending time with her family.

Emmy is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Baker Garcia of Decatur, Alabama, her grandchildren, Michele Baker Terry (Burt) of Decatur, Alabama, Trey Baker (Tammy) of Woodlands, Texas and her loving great grandchildren, Abby, Sydney, Hunter, Wesley and Ashton.She also leaves many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Damascus Cemetery with Cliff Starr officiating.

Emmy's family will serve as pallbearers.
