Emma Lee Murkerson, 96, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Messer officiating.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home.Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with Howard Whittaker, Greg Jenkins, Brian Butler and Stacy Knight serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Murkerson was born January 13, 1920 to the late Andrew Lee McDonald and Johnnie Hayes McDonald.She was a homemaker and a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin Murkerson and several siblings.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Horne and Carey of Donalsonville, Ga. and one son, Lawson Murkerson and Rebecca of Blakely, and two sisters; Quida DuBose of Albany, Ga. and Margie Tiner Blakely.There are 4 granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.
