Emily Jane George

November 9, 1925 — March 5, 2017

Emily Jane George, 91, of 196 Ft. Gaines St., Blakely, GA 39823, died Sunday morning, March 5, 2017 at her residence. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 3 PM at the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. The family will receive friends in the Social Hall from 2 - 2:45 PM. Burial will follow in the George Cemetery with Elder Sam Bennett officiating. Active Pallbearers will be Sam Bennett, David Clark, Wally Houston, Cleve Roberts, Larry White and Allen White. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyner Cooper, Franklin Ford, Mike Middleton, Chad Mock and Emmett Mock.

Miss Emily was born on November 9, 1925 in Cuthbert, GA to the late William Knowles George and Emily Elizabeth Henier George. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was a retired Case Worker for the Department of Family and Children's Service with over 30 years of service. Miss George was a graduate of Damascus High School, the Class of 1942.

Miss Emily's survivors would be several cousins including Lynda Bennett, who has devoted the last 5 years of her life to see about the needs of Miss Emily.
