Elizabeth Stewart Alexander,90, of 803 S. Wiley Street, Donalsonville, GA 39845 passed away, June 26, 2018, at her daughter's home.Her funeral will be Sunday, July 1, 2018, at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Blakely, GA with Rev. Nate Lehman officiating.Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral starting at 1 p.m. in the Social Hall.Burial will be in the Blakely Cemetery with Alex Jernigan, Trowell Jernigan, Mark Kasper, Tate Jernigan, Trey Herring and Cleary "Chip" Doussan serving as pallbearers.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of fifty three years and best friend, Roy E. Alexander, Jr.She is survived by two daughters:India (Jim) Jernigan of Donalsonville, GA and Kitty (Chris) Kasper of Wasilla, AK.She will be lovingly remembered by her four grandsons:Alex (Nancy) Jernigan, Trowell (Jan) Jernigan, Mark (Ruby) Kasper and Michael (Stephanie) Kasper.She was the proud great grandmother of Erin and Emily Simmerock, Matthew, Tate, Seth and Lenton Jernigan, Audrey, Elizabeth, Roy, Miles and Mira Kasper. She was also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Winifred and Winston Felder and nieces and nephews.She was lovingly cared for by Catherine Williams.
Elizabeth was born in Blakely, GA to Kittie (Bragan) and Wheeler Stewart on November 12, 1927.Roy and Elizabeth were married on January 26, 1946.In 1952 they moved to Decatur, GA.Elizabeth resided in Decatur for almost 60 years where she ran her own business, Elizabeth's Beauty Lounge.She was an active member of the United Methodist Church, Bonanza Garden Club, various bridge clubs and charitable organizations.
She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, wife and mother.No one in her life ever had to worry -- she worried for all of us.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother and sister (twins), Billy and Betty and a great grandson Matthew Jernigan.
