Douglas Hayes, 74, of Fayetteville, GA passed away Friday, October 21, 2016. He was born and raised in Blakely, GA, where he graduated from Blakely Union. He also attended Middle Georgia College. Douglas was a Marine and fought in Vietnam. He loved golfing, gardening, and coaching little league baseball. Douglas retired from FMC after many years of service.

Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Rogers Hayes; parents, John & Louise Hayes; and brother, Ben "Buddy" Hayes. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Ivey; son, Ben (Beth) Hayes; grandchildren, Kory, Baylee, Jackson, and soon to be born, Blakely; and brother, James Hayes.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 3:00PM, at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Rev. Dennis Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends at 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
