Doug "Peabody" Hansard

Doug “Peabody” Hansard, 60, formerly of Blakely, passed away at his home on Friday, May 10, 2024. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, 10:00 AM at the Graveside in Blakely Cemetery with Pastor Sterling Jones officiating. Pallbearers being asked to serve are Brandon Hansard, Logan Hansard, Matt Lamb, Jack Davis, Mason Turner and Josh Harrel. Born on January, 26, 1964 in Woodstock, GA to the late Hughie and Gloria Gibson Hansard, he was also preceded in death by one brother Mike Hansard. Doug was a hard worker, spending many years in construction with his favorite part being the electrician, having worked for many contractors in Dothan in the electrical field. Recently Doug has enjoyed working on an Alabama farm driving tractors in his semi-retirement days. Doug is survived by his loving wife, of 30 years, Denise Lamb Hansard. Children, Brandon Heith Hansard (Maryland) of Eufaula, Logan Kyle Hansard of Blakely, and Staci Leighanne Hansard of Columbia, grandchildren, Emerson Heith Hansard, Macon Colt Hansard, Leighton Faye Hansard, and a new baby girl due soon. He also leaves behind his loving furry child, Bella. Brother, Keith Hansard (Susan) of Slocomb, AL and several nieces and nephews also survive. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
