Dorothy Daniels Everson

February 27, 1930 — January 14, 2017

Dorothy Ola Daniels Everson, 86, of 344 Redding Ave., Edison, GA, 39846, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Jan. 14, 2017 at her home. Her funeral will be a graveside service held Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2017 at 11 AM in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington, Ga. Rev. Keith Gaines and Rev. Sterling Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday night January 15, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home.Mrs. Everson was born on Feb. 27, 1930 in Arlington, Ga to the late Thomas Tennyson Daniels and Elise Whiddon Daniels. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruel Jefferson Everson and a son Jeff Everson.

Mrs. Everson was an active member of the Edison Baptist church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and church choir member. She served as secretary for the Bethel Baptist Association for 20 years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Gideons Auxillary.She and her husband were the owners of Western Auto, later known as Everson Home and Auto.

She is survived by one daughter, India Thompson and husbandRobert of Blakely, one son, Daniel Everson and wife Pat of Edison, one sister, Anita Daniels Yow of St. Simons Island, Ga and by one brother, Thomas Daniels and wife Beverly of Arlington, GA. There are 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Thompson Knox and husband John of LaGrange, Teresa Thompson Viola and husband Frank of Ocala, FL, Danny Everson and wife NeCole of Edison, Doug Everson and wife Kaycee of Edison,Patrick Everson and wife Wendy of Edison and Frank Jefferson Everson and wife Nicole of Chipley, Fl. There are also 13 great-grandchildren: Peyton Knox, Nikki Knox, Perry Everson, Emily Everson, Leta Viola, Kamryn Everson, Karsyn Everson, Gentry Everson, Finn Everson, Keaton Tiner, Madeline Everson, Abigail Everson and Savannah Everson. Her Caregivers have been Amelia Hightower and Sandy Jones.
