Another Memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at 5 PM in the Antioch United Methodist Church in Springville, TN with Rev. Linda Hilliard officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 PM up until service time at 5 PM.
David was born in Albany, Georgia to Bennett David Strickland and Diane Duke Strickland on Oct. 19, 1970. He was a trim carpenter for the Hufham Farris Construction Co. He was a member and served on the Administrative Board of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Springville, TN and attended the Edison United Methodist Church where he was on the Board of Trustees and was active in both these churches. He was in the U.S. Army National Guardduring Desert Storm. David was an Eagle Scout and an assistant Scout Master.
His survivors, other than his parents, Ben and Diane Strickland of Edison, are his wife: Meggen Alderson Strickland of Springville, TN and 3 sons: Alden BennettStrickland, Collin David Strickland and Alexander Duke Strickland, all of Springville, TN. He also has a brother: Coleman Duke Strickland and his wife Sheree of Patmos, GA.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Aubrey Bennett Strickland and Cleone Clements Strickland and his maternal grandparents: C. D. Duke and Sara Boyett Duke.
