Daniel Gonzales Serna, Jr., 32, of Blakely, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2020, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Bryant officiating.Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery with Ira Serna, Bruce Martinez, Josh Cheek, Patrick Webb, Rollins Davis, Michael White, and Ben Byrd serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Marean, Jeremy Walters, Michael Walters, Daniel Walters William Riley, Kevin Watson, Brandon Webb, Josh Byrd, Houston Monfort, Jonathan Monfort, and John Felch.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020, at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home.
Daniel was born, May 26, 1987, in Avondale, AZ.After graduating from Early County High School in 2006, he began an enjoyably career as a Industrial Electrician which took him to various locations throughout the country before having to retire involuntarily.Everywhere he went, he always made a friend.Daniel had a charming sense of humor and his courage and generosity will never be forgotten. He attended Redemption Church in Blakely.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Cunningham Serna and their children, Scarlettand Joseph; his mother, Shirley Jeanine White Serna; his honorary father, Rayne Talavera; two sisters, Chrissy Lynn Martinez Watson (Kevin) and their six children, and Rosie Delia Riley (Will) and their four children of Daleville, AL; two brothers, Bruce Allen Martinez and his four children, and Ira Lucas Serna; his paternal grandmother, Delia G. Serna, of Avondale, AZ; aunt, Cheryl Fisher and her three children of Dallas, GA; uncle, Micheal White (Pam) and their three children; and numerous cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward F. and Rosie M. White; paternal grandfather, Albert S. Serna; and a uncle, Edward F. White, Jr.
