Daniel Clayton Cooper

Daniel Clayton "Dan" Cooper, 70, formerly of Blakely, died Saturday evening, December 22, 2018 in Cumming, GA at the home of his daughter, Heather Nation. His graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:30 PM in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Hwy 39, Ft. Gaines, GA with Dr. Michael Warren officiating and with Military Rites conducted by the U. S. Marine Funeral Detail. The family will receive friends in the Church Sanctuary from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. Pallbearers will be Tyler & Casey Martin, Scott & Coty Ayers, Josh Storey & Nathan Trawick.

Dan was born on May 13, 1948 in Cordele, GA to the late L G Cooper and Grace Roberts Cooper.For many years he was the Manager of the Public Housing Units on the Damascus highway. He last worked at the State Prison in Morgan, GA. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Kaye Hanners Cooper in December of 2015.

His survivors include six daughters: Heather Nation and Jeremy of Cumming, GA and their son, Gabriel; Kristina Robitelle and Jason of Cumming, GA and their children, Alexander, Maverick and Remington Kaye; Dana Cooper of Cumming, GA, Stacey Cooper of Ball Ground, GA and Tori and Harlie Cooper of Acworth, GA;two sons: Joshua Linker and Kara of Acworth, GA and their children, Ava, Israel, Egan, Arrow and Oliver; and David Cooper and Patricia of Springtown, TX and their children, Kelli, Jessica and Robert. Dan also has a brother, Ronnie Cooper and Joyce of Birmingham, AL.
