Dan Lane

UPDATED Graveside service will be moved to 3:00 p.m. due to inclement weather. Dan Lane, 83, of Dothan, Alabama passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at his residence. Graveside service will be held Monday, February, 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Rehoboth Church Cemetery in Shellman, Ga. Rev. Jerry Murkerson will be officiating. Mr. Lane was born March 20, 1940 to the late John Floyd Lane and Grace Peavy Lane. He was married to the late Thelma Irene Lane. Mr. Lane worked at the peanut mill in numerous positions throughout his career. Mr. Lane was predeceased by his parents, his wife, and his siblings. He was the last surviving sibling. Mr. Lane was also predeceased by a daughter, Teresa Lane. He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Hill (Mark) of Dothan, Alabama, 2 sons, Robert “Bud” Lane (Sheila) and Mark Lane all of Blakely, Ga., grandchildren, Jason Cherry (Jeanie), Tabitha Cherry, Ginger Mantz (Mike), Kimberly Ann Lane, Amy Lane, Brittany McGee (Nick), Marcus Lane, and Harley Lane. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
