October 24, 1938 — February 19, 2017

Cynthia Cox Nichols, 78, of 1356 Damascus St., Blakely, GA 39823, passed away early Sunday morning, February 19, 2017 at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017 at 12 noon at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 11:45 am in the social hall. Active pallbearers will be Earl Jones, Perry Jarrett, Lamar Willis, Fred Forsee, Charles Adkison and Stanley Houston.Honorary pallbearers will beEwell Jarrett, Larry Coleman, Danny Williams and Wesley Jenkins.

Cynthia was born on October 24, 1938 in Blakely, GA to the late Emmett Lester Cox and Emma Lorena Wilkerson Cox. She was an active member of Southside Baptist Church of Blakely for many years and was a retired cafeteria worker for many years at Southwest Georgia Academy.

Cynthia is survived by her husband: Sherman "Nick" Nichols, her daughter: Tonya Kay Nichols and her son: Stacey Nichols, all of Blakely, GA. Her sister is Betty Odom of Albany, GA and she also has two grandsons: Neal Roberts and his wife Deborah of Wellington, FL and Coy Roberts and his fiance' Erin Tehune of Portland, Or.
