Collis "Pop" Tomlinson

September 5, 1921 — January 12, 2018

Our beloved Collis "Pop" Tomlinson went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2018 in the Lubbock, TX.Collis was born on September 5, 1921 to Roland and Rebecca (Lane) Tomlinson at Lily, FL.He served in the US Army during WWII in both the European and Asian tours.Collis worked as an airplane mechanic until retirement.He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid baseball fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Ruth; infant son Collis Avnel Tomlinson Jr., daughter Connie Tomlinson Johnson and six brothers.

Collis is survived by his children, Mike Tomlinson and wife Wendy of Lubbock, TX, Michele johnson and husband Carl of Cleveland, TX, and Becky King of Damascus, GA; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

After a funeral service being held in Texas, he will be buried in the family plot at New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines, Ga at a later date with no formal service in Georgia. However, family and friends in the Blakely area can come by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1PM until closing at 5PM to pay their final respects to Mr. Tomlinson.
