Clarence Cook, Jr., 75, of Arlington, GA passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in the Early Memorial Nursing Home in Blakely, Ga. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11 AM in the Arlington Baptist Church. With Rev. Ryan Mason officiating. Burial will follow in the Arlington Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM until funeral time. Serving as Active pallbearers will bePayton Cook, Lamar Cook, Wiley Girard, Kent Cheney, Mike Bonner and Bruce Andrews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ike Newberry Sunday School Class.
Mr. Cook was born in Early County, Ga. December 6 , 1942 to the late Clarence Cook, Sr. and Eloise Ferguson Cook. He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church and was retired from Law Enforcement for the State of Ga. as SGT. for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Carlton Lawhorne.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Varnum Cook. A sister, Clarice Jestice of Dearborn, Michigan ; 7 Nieces: Karen & Steve Hill, Kim & John Jestice, Kelly & David Fry, Brandie Varnum, Valorie Renne & Chris Ferrey, Jenny Richeaux and Sheri Smith.3 Nephews: Kyle Dupree, Jay Varnum and Gabe & April Varnum. Mother-In-Law: Nettie Varnum, Sister-In-Law Cynthia Dupree and a Brother-In-Law: Earl & Kathy Varnum.
