Homemaker Cheryl Elaine Bennett (Cherry) Wilbourn, 72, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023, at Early Medical Center in Blakely.Cherry was born Sept. 9, 1950, in Cuthbert, Ga., to the late Claude and Betty Faye Bennett. Visitation with family will be Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at New Park Cemetery in Fort Gaines, Ga., at 11:30 a.m. with Randy Stokes officiating. The family will also receive guests at the home of Tonya Holley, 304 King Road in Blakely through this time of grieving. Cherry, lovingly known as “Cherry Pie” by her husband of 28 years Graline Wilbourn, loved to ride motorcycles, travel, camp, and fish. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren, and she was known to share pictures and stories of her time with them. Cherry was a kind spirit who liked to take care of others. When her husband was injured, she devoted her life to taking care of him and nursing him back to health. Cherry is survived by her husband, Graline; two sons, Chris Morris (Sarah), and Jeff Morris (Tracy); two brothers, Butch Bennett (Sandy) and Scott Bennett; one sister, Susan Gandy; six grandchildren, Kortnee, Jacob, Justin, Devin, Olive, and Cooper; and a host of nieces and nephews that love her and will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Betty Faye Bennett; grandparents, Clifford and Rebecca Ethel Bennett and Otis and Willa Bea Martin; and one brother, Mike Bennett. Pallbearers- Ricky Lee, Jason Stone, Cory Bennett, Cary Bennett, Dustin Mock, and Jay Carlton. Honorary pallbearer- Phillip Walker.
