Charlie Gancerez, 33, of Blakely passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home. Rev. Yancey Hartman will be officiating. Charlie was born June 5, 1990 in Thomasville, GA to Kimberly Swaim Martinez and the late Christobol Gancerez. He was a 2008 graduate of Early County High School, where he was a member of EC’s Band of Blue. He was employed as a Low Voltage Technician with BCIS of Blakely. Charlie was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to his father, Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maria and Carlos Gancerez, and his maternal grandfather, Lionell Swaim. He is survived by his mother, Kimberly Martinez, sister, Christal Gancerez, children, Tanner Gancerez, Addie Gancerez, and Skylar Gancerez, grandmother, Hilda Swaim, nephew, Elijah Harris, niece, Makaya Harris, an uncle, Mike Swaim, and an aunt, Synthia Swaim. Charlie also leaves behind special friends Kristi and Rollins Davis, Marissa Goocher, and the Bush Family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association in Charlie’s memory. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
