Charles Edward Adkison

Charles Edward Adkison, 83, of Blakely passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Early Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Blakely, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Adkison was born May 25, 1940 in New Brockton, Alabama to Harley Lee and Agnes Adkison. He was married to the late Theresa Dixon Adkison for 54 years. Mr. Adkison was retired from Birdsong Peanut Company. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where he enjoyed being a part of the Music Ministry. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Adkison was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Harley Adkison, a brother, Othar R. Adkison, and sisters Virginia Meredith, Janice Alford, Martha Smith, and Barbara Adkison. He is survived by daughters Sybil Lovering (Ronnie) of Blakely and Laura Adkison of Pensacola, Fl., grandchildren, Zach Adkison (Brittany), Brittni Adkison Johnson (Chuck), Samuel Lovering, Seth Lovering, and Abigail Adkison and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Don Adkison (Dianne) and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Assembly of God Church. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
