Ms. Cecelia Hale Drew, age 80, formerly of Blakely Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023 in Heritage Inn Nursing Home, in Sandersville Georgia. A memorial service will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. for Ms. Cecelia Drew at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Dr. Alex Howell will officiating. Ms. Drew was born and reared in Blakely, the daughter of the late Cecil Hale and the late Sara Singletary. She graduated from Early County High School and also from Columbus College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She returned home to begin a vibrant 30 year career as a chemistry teacher at Early County High School, positively impacting the lives of numerous pupils. For years she spent her time tutoring students. Ms. Drew was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blakely, the National Science Teacher Association and the Early County Pilot Club, where she was a past club president. Ms. Drew loved to cook, crochet, and sew. She adored family, especially her granddaughter, Chessly. Above all, Ms. Drew possessed a strong faith in her lord Jesus Christ. Survivors are her children; Shari Fry and her husband James, of Milledgeville and Scott Drew and his wife Debby, of Columbus and her granddaughter Chessly Drew, also of Columbus.
