Carolyn Lee Bruner, 97, of Edison, GA passed away peacefully on 5/13/24 at Willowood Assisted Living in Edison, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Enterprise Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jackie Williams, Rev. Michael Douglas, and Rev. Rick Thomas will be officiating. Pallbearers being asked to serve are Danny Everson, Doug Everson, Patrick Everson, Will Bruner, Richard Gay, and Clif Cherry. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Isler, Gerald Chapman, Andy Owen, Kelly Vann, Lee Hubbard, Matt Bruner, Danny Williams, and Lester McNair. Carolyn was born March 26, 1927 in Edison, GA to the late Rufus Earle Lee and Estelle Parker Lee. She graduated with top honors from Edison High School, and worked in her early years at the Bank of Edison before beginning her career as secretary of Edison Fidelity, later known as Kaiser Ag Chemical Co. She was a dedicated member and leader at Enterprise Baptist Church, where among many other duties, she taught the adult Sunday School class for 44 years. Carolyn and her husband, Joe Willie, were married in 1946 and raised two children, Joe and Pat, on their small farm. Many joyous occasions were spent in outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing, and attending sports events such as baseball and basketball games. Her personal hobbies included reading, completing puzzles, and traveling the U.S. with her siblings. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Willie Bruner, Sr., a son, Joe Willie Bruner, Jr., and sisters Earline Lee Vann and Joan Lee Bridges. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Bruner Everson (Daniel), a daughter-in-law, Janet Bruner Thomas, grandchildren, Sandy Bruner Gay (Richard), Will Bruner (Tiffany), Danny Everson (NeCole), Doug Everson (Kaycee), and Patrick Everson (Wendy), and a brother, William (Bill) E. Lee. Carolyn is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
