Carolyn Elaine Brooks

Carolyn Elaine Brooks, 80, of Blakely passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Westview Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Brooks was born on November 9, 1943 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Edward Charles and Ethel Mae Kennedy Zuelke. She was married to the late W.T. Brooks. She was recently retired from The Early County News, where she wrote many obituaries and greeted everyone that came in the office. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Westview Methodist Church.: In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brooks was predeceased by a son, Barry Brooks, and siblings, Faye Fornea, Helen Houston, Rachel Corken, and Harvey Lee Zuelke. She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Cooley (Randi) of Columbia, Al., grandchildren, Ridge Cooley, Kendall Cooley, and Breanna Brooks , great grandchild Brayden Sinquefield, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Westview Methodist Church or Southeast Health Cancer Center. Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
