Carlton Edward Roberts, 77 of Smiths Grove died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 at Greenview Regional Hospital. The Damascus, GA native was a son of the late Auburn and Bronnie Phillips Roberts, husband of the late Patsy Gilliam Roberts and is preceded in death by two sons, Carlton Edward Roberts, Jr and Craig Steven Williams; two brothers, Hollis and Billy Roberts and one sister Gloria Jean Lovering. He was a carpenter, of the Baptist Faith and a U SAir Force veteran. His survivors include daughters, Sonya Mantooth (Michael); Cheryl Pierce (Timothy) and Tonya Tibbs; sons, Thomas Wayne Roberts (Cherie), Michael Williams (Tina); two sisters, Ann Carlton (Gene), Alice Rachel (W.H.) one brother, Carroll "Snooks" Roberts (Vivian) 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. with the funeral service being at 4 p.m. at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel.A visitation will be help at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, Blakely, GA. on August 16th at 1 p.m. with service following at 3 p.m. in the chapel and burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Blakely, Georgia.Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Roberts, Trip Rachel, Phil Roberts, Rusty Lovering, Rodney Jackson and Mike Edmunds.
